“Extase 1992” is an emotionally charged, deeply expressive and sensual painting. At its center is a nude female figure in a moment of ecstasy – her head tilted back, body open, as if ready to receive an experience beyond the physical. Surrounding her are other figures – perhaps spirits of closeness, shadows of memory, or emotional witnesses to this intimate moment. The hands’ gestures intensify the tension and create a dialogue – both physical and spiritual.
The color palette is cool, almost otherworldly, dominated by blues, violets, and beige tones – enhancing the dreamlike, visionary atmosphere. The painting approaches the edge of intimacy, but does not drift into pure eroticism – instead, it portrays ecstasy as an elevation of the soul, an opening to another or to the self.
